Hi on a Sunday! Are you ready for the week? I actually think I am this time around! I feel like I got some important things accomplished in the last few days that have set me up for some major productivity this week which is GREAT. I’ve got lots of recipe development planned this week for some new appetizer/snack/side dish ideas that are fit for a crowd, because I’ll have extra mouths to feed next weekend and I love taking advantage of their taste buds. I’m really excited for everyone to get into town, and Saturday we have a big time BBQ planned for my parents backyard. Which means a Costco and Whole Foods trip planned tomorrow for my mom and I….which means I get to go to two of my favorite places with one of my favorite people…YAY for me!
I’ve got five new things to share with you today, the first being one of my favorite things to do with a plethora of tomatoes, like these here. These pics are from last season at the end of the summer when we picked every single tomato we could out of the garden to cook down into a compote with garlic and balsamic to toss into pasta and spread onto bread. It’s simple to make, yet complex in flavor, and super versatile. I can’t wait to make more this year when our tomatoes come up again. I mean, is there anything better than tomatoes right off the vine, no matter what you do with them??? Which brings me to number one…
Number One: This recipe for balsamic roasted cherry tomatoes. Just toss the tomatoes and bake, then stir up and toss into pasta, or cool and store for later. It doesn’t get any easier than that folks.
Number Two:. These gorgeous running kicks that I’m obsessed with. I’ve been needing a new pair for awhile now and I think I’ve found the perfect pair. I’m not into wearing much color, so the low profile black and white is right up my alley…plus they got a really good review, which really should be my first priority…
Number Three: This Pineapple Turmeric Shrub handmade by Element. It’s so clean and refreshing and I am ADDICTED. I mix a little bit into a glass of sparkling water every morning immediately after I wake up and it’s the best start to my day EVER.
Number Four: These Lemon Poppy Seed Pancakes with Cherry Compote from Mary Ann of The Beach House Kitchen. I mean, just look at them. Nuff said…or seen?
Number Five: This article of guidance on how to stop comparing yourself to others. I found this to be an incredibly important read for both grown-ups and young people alike. I love the becoming minimalist site and all of the wisdom it has to offer in terms of living a life of passion rather than possession. It’s a beautiful site.
That’s all for today guys! Have a great rest of your weekend and I’ll see you tomorrow with a brand new popsicle idea…ENJOY!!!
